PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - ROCK DEVILS Lacrosse 2010

Welcome players, parents, coaches and volunteers to the eleventh year of lacrosse in Temiskaming Shores and surrounding area. A successful year in 2010 has our executive excited and energized for another great year of Rock Devil lacrosse in our area.

The success of 2010 can be attributed to an increase of 25% in enrolment of new players in our program. A new core of younger children joined and experienced the game of lacrosse. With the help of a dedicated group of coaches and volunteers, a successful ten week program was carried out, highlighted with a pair of exhibition games in Huntsville for our junior players.

The juveniles and intermediates were able to play exhibition games against Huntsville, Sudbury and Midland. The Midgets attended the provincials in Whitby where eight dedicated players played their hearts out and narrowly missed picking up the first ever win for Tri-Town lacrosse at a provincial tournament.

For 2011, Rock Devil Lacrosse is planning on some exciting changes. This year’s format will see all players registering as club members, and those who wish to play a more competitive game can also register for travel lacrosse. Our hope for travel lacrosse is to be able to schedule four to eight exhibition games with both Huntsville and North Bay. Travel teams will also be given the opportunity to travel to the provincials with sufficient commitment from the parents and players.

The 2011 season will closely follow the same time frame as last year with box lacrosse starting around April 11th and running until mid-June. Soft lacrosse for our early bird registers will begin in mid-February. Field lacrosse and a conditioning program are also being planned for the upcoming season.

Registration begins January 13th, 14th and 15th followed by a mid February registration.

You can check out the complete details of the 2011 program on this website. Come and check us out. For our veteran players, bring a friend and introduce them to the great game of lacrosse. And remember, please support our sponsors every chance you get.

Yours in lacrosse,

Dan Patterson
